A walk of approximately four miles through woodland, taking in waterside, a golf course and apple orchards and pass some interesting landmarks on the way. Meet at the car park opposite St Bartholomow’s Church, (OS ref 837121, post code CM8 3LA).
Friday 8th October 2010 at 10-00am. Highwoods Country Park. Donation £1
A shorter walk of 3½ miles through our local Country Park. We meet at the Visitor Centre car park (OS ref 000275). For those using sat nav the post code is CO4 5JR, which is shared with Wryneck Close. The entrance to the Visitor Centre is clearly marked with the Country Park’s board.
Sunday 12th December 2010 at 10-00am. CHRISTMAS CAROL SERVICE WALK. Donation £1.
Once again , we shall be taking part in the annual Carol Service at Lawford Church, preceded by a walk and a lunch. The walk is approximately 4 miles long and starts from the public car park by the river in Dedham (OS ref TM058335, post code CO7 6DJ). The walk will be over farmland and across the beautiful countryside around Dedham. After the walk we shall have lunch at the Marlborough Head Inn at 12-15pm before driving to Lawford Church for the Carol Service. You may join us for the walk, the lunch and the service or for any combination or single component!
