Walks are arranged from April through to October, if there are leaders available to lead them, with the traditional Christmas Carol Service walk in December. Further details will be published in the newsletters, and on this website as they become available.

Suggested minimum donation for each walk: £3 per person.

Walks have been arranged as follows:

Tuesday 16th May 2017

A walk in Stutton, including the attractive foreshore area.  After the walk there is the opportunity to have lunch at The Gardiners Arms for those who wish.  Meet at The Gardiners Arms, Manningtree Road, Stutton, for a 10am start.

Tuesday 6th June 2017

Flatford to Dedham and back with the opportunity to have lunch in the tea room at Flatford.  Meet at Flatford car park at 10am

Tuesday 4th July 2017

A walk of around 4 miles in the Chappel area.  Meet at the car park in Chappel just by the school. Lunch available at the Swan Inn afterwards.

Thursday 17th August 2017

A 4-5 mile walk in the Colne Valley.  Meet at the car park opposite The Cricketers public house, Eight Ash Green, at 10am.  Lunches are available at The Cricketers.

Wednesday 13th September 2017 at 1pm

A 3 to 4 mile walk through woodland, farmland and countryside around Stoke by Nayland and Polestead.  Meet at 1pm at Stoke by Nayland Recreation Ground car park.  This walk will be followed by afternoon tea at the home of Joan Sheppard.

Tuesday 10th October 2017

A countryside ramble from Long Melford.  A walk of almost 6 miles along the edge of ancient woodland, across farmland and passing interesting buildings and features.  Meet at the public car park opposite Melford Hall at 10am.

Sunday 10th December 2017, Christmas Carol Service walk, 10.00am, LAWFORD

A change of venue this year.  We start and finish the walk at Lawford Church.  Please park on the field forming part of Lawford Hall.There will be no organised lunch this year, so please bring a picnic or arrange to have lunch in the village. We shall attend the annual Carol Service for walkers and cyclists in Lawford Church.  The service begins at 3pm but it is wise to arrive early as this popular event fills the church.

Members and their guests are welcome on walks, as are well behaved dogs on leads.
